How does the human inner clock tick?

What influence does light have on the inner clock?

Humans live in repetitive, around 24-hour rhythms - daylight has a significant influence on sleeping and waking times during these episodes. Our internal clock, in turn, determines when we are active and how.

However, shift work and other influencing factors can now lead to time shifts in this “planning” – light is needed to synchronize the inner clock again. Dynamic lighting in the workplace can help to achieve increased alertness even at "unplanned" times. Subdued light at the end of the day also promotes sleep.

Regular deviations in the normal day-night rhythm can therefore lead to sleep problems and consequently to health problems - the resulting shift can be synchronized by the adjusted course of the light:

Human Centric Lighting (HCL) put the natural daylight flow and thus optimizes the working environment.
