Dental practices with feel-good character

For many people, going to the dentist is associated with discomfort and a queasy feeling. But did you know that an optimal lighting concept in the dental practice can have a positive effect on the well-being of the patient? Light has a proven impact on our emotions and well-being. Rather, it is a versatile design tool with which we can enhance our environment and specifically influence our perceptions.

Best of all: the practice team also benefits from the right light in the dental practice! Light not only plays a decisive role in the success of the treatment - the mental and physical strain is also very high due to daily work under artificial light with high illuminance levels. Special lights with a daylight spectrum are therefore crucial in order to avoid early fatigue and health problems.

Which light for which area?

Especially in dental practices, the lighting has to meet a wide range of requirements - the right lighting concept is crucial! Basically, a dental practice can be divided into three main areas: the waiting area, including reception and waiting rooms, an office area and the treatment rooms. While in waiting room with warmer light colors and lower illuminance levels of approx. 400-500 lux for comfort & well-being wants to be taken care of, are in Treatment room up to 8000 lux necessary. The requirements are different again Reception and office area. Here the legislature writes at least 500 Lux before. In addition, employees are prevented from being dazzled by luminaires specially designed for VDU workstations.

The right illuminance for the treatment room

For treatment to be successful, color differences between teeth and materials must be accurately identified. While special operating lights with illuminances of up to 20.000 lux or more are used in the oral cavity area, the area around the Oral cavity still at least 1000 Luxury and im remaining treatment room at least 500 lux can be achieved by other artificial light sources such as ceiling lights. An even distribution of brightness and glare-free light is important in order to relieve the dentist's eyes and not give the patient the feeling of lying on an operating table. For true-color vision, a CRI> 90 maintained and attention should be paid to color temperatures in the daylight spectrum (>5300 Kelvin).

Light for the laboratory & the sterilization room

In many practices, the sterilization room is right next to the treatment room. The processing of medical devices after treatment is a complex matter with many requirements. In addition to the clean separation of clean and unclean areas, good lighting is crucial for optimal sterilization! In addition to special articulated lamps for the workplace itself, special magnifying lamps are used in the visual functional and visual inspection. This is important in order to be able to see details that are not visible to the naked eye.

More sustainability in the dental practice

Frequently asked questions

Frequently asked questions regarding dental office lighting.

Unfortunately, we currently do not have surgical lights specifically for illuminating the oral cavity in our range. Our focus is on the optimal illumination of the entire treatment room with general lighting, such as ceiling panels or LED pendant lights, as well as articulated and magnifying lights especially for dental work stations and the sterilization room.

Thanks to their excellent light quality (full-spectrum light) and the simple and particularly flat design, the LED panels can be used in a variety of ways - whether in the treatment room, in the waiting area, in reception or in the office.

Light is a crucial factor for health and well-being. Especially when we spend a lot of time indoors, natural light is important to keep our internal clock in balance and to be able to work with concentration. Numerous studies have shown that natural daylight is crucial for performance and health. Full spectrum LED lights, such as our LED panels, contain the entire spectrum of daylight, so that the light can be individually adjusted depending on the time of day and support our biorhythm - this promotes performance, concentration and we feel more vital and balanced.

With RMD workplace lights, the LED modules can be replaced at low cost. Just send us an e-mail or give us a call and we will take care of your request.

We're welcome to do that. Simply contact us and we will look at your situation together. We are happy to hear from them!
